Spring Festival! All furres are invited to help Jujinka bring in the Spring, March 20th in the
dream in the Festival Grounds. This festival is about
, meaning everyone should come in character prepared for a Medieval Spring Festival. There will be spring events including games, egg hunts, booths, and Maypole dancing.
Players are encouraged to organize events on the stage; it's also rumored that some
will attend the festival. Feel free to have picnics in the Festival Grounds or throughout Furcadia, or even visit the
for a trinket for your sweetie. We hope to see you there!
If you have a question regarding Jujinka's Spring Festival or contests, please feel free to post in our
.
Good luck to all the contestants and we hope you have a great time working on the contests.

Fae (Faerie, Fairy, Flerian) creatures are a staple of Furcadia's lore and design. We are asking our talented artists to design a Fae Avatar in the form of 'concept art' or a 'design sketch' with notes describing various characteristics of their design. Extra points to those who provide a Furcadia-size avatar in the 'first standing' position (avatar faces south-west in a standing position!).
Please note: DEP makes no promise to utilize any of these creations as the basis of avatars in the future. If you enter, you are effectively suggesting an avatar to DEP without any expectation of compensation even if a similar avatar is created in the future.
◊Concept art/Design sheet must not be greater than a 600x800 (height by width) graphic, in .jpg, .gif, or .png. Avatar must be presented in .fox format -- .zip together, please!
◊Master entries MUST make a note that they are a master participant in the text field of their submission.
◊Only one entry permitted. Masters and Regular categories will be judged separately. Exhibition (non-judged) entries are also accepted.
◊All images should be optimized for digital display on a webpage. Transparent backgrounds, clean edges, and well-contrasted pictures are a plus.

What is a limerick? A limerick is a five-line poem that is witty or humorous. The standard form of a limerick is a stanza of five lines, with the first, second and fifth having nine syllables and rhyming with one another, and the third and fourth having five or six and rhyming separately. Take a look at this example from Felorin!
There once was a lass named Rei-Jin
Her awards show about to begin.
She'd gotten some prizes
Of all shapes and sizes,
But forgot to invite some furres in!
◊The suggested theme this year is "Kitter Bloom!"
◊Contestants do not need to make their entries 'spring' themed, though spring certainly does lend itself to the theme!
◊One entry per player is accepted.

We're asking our creative community to make a real life 'Fae Home' to invite spring into your home or garden! Use natural items and accent creatively with diminutive everyday items to create a 'home' worthy of your local resident fae population! Take a picture of it, and we'll post it to social media (credited to you, naturally). See
Rei-Jin's Fae Home for inspiration!
◊Use natural and manmade items to make an enticing home for a fae!
◊Make sure to place a piece of paper with your character name on it beside your creation, failure to do so will disqualify your entry.
◊Take a picture of your creation.
◊One entry per player is accepted.
